2 days after the ’04 Presidential Election…Rollin and Jennifer allowed me to share a day of fishing with their family from a pier on Atlantic Beach, N.C. They may never know how that moment changed my life. A simple day led to a simple prayer that evening… “How could I help…What could I do?”

When inspiration strikes…I trust it.

So I packed my bags that very night and left the $43 Morehead City motel. With the radio off I drove back to Cape Cod with a developing vision for “Essence of American Spirit”…which proved the genesis for “American W.A.Y.”

“Was it meant to be”… the grand inspiration Rollin and Jennifer helped me to find that day on the pier? Or did I find “it” simply because I had already begun to look for it?

That isn’t for me to say
